  2. Ha! We had six and can’t remember all the stuff that came out of their mouths. Some pretty funny stuff I am sure. Our youngest is 8 now and the oldest 22. A fun start to your blog!

  3. Really interesting blog. Often words that come out of our little ones’ mouths make us smile, think and even shocked. I too wonder how you manage to recollect all his words. Great collection. When he grows up he’ll have quite a lot to read about himself. Does he now read what you write?

    1. Well, as I’ve told my friends, this is not all verbatim and I do have creative license because my memory is not what it used to be! But, I know my child and I can usually recollect with pretty good accuracy. Otherwise, I now jot down a note so I don’t forget. I guess reading glasses are next. Sigh…

  4. Just wanted to compliment you as a writer and a mother! I’ve been reading your blog for some time now and I love it! I am only 22 years old, and massively afraid of having my own children, but your blog makes me be eager to have my own! I love kids, they are so unique and entertaining with the things they say and how they even interact with others. You’ve done an amazing job, and all these memories will be awesome to go over with him in the future!

    1. OH that is such a nice thing to say! Thank you thank you! Believe me, I was always nervous about having kids and never really thought it would even happen, and I am SO glad it did. Jack is the best thing that ever happened to me. 🙂 The secret to being a good mom: sense of humor and bottomless patience. Oh and common sense helps. LOL! Thank you for reading!

    1. And thank you too! Yes, I pretty much started this blog as a way to empty my head and record all of this fantastic material. Even my family gets exhausted reading it all, but yet I live it every day!

  12. Hi there.

    My name’s Florence and I’m an 18 year old British girl and studying in London. I’ve been writing a play for this course I’m currently on, very briefly about the World seen through two childrens’ perspectives. I’ve written some original dialogue already, but I’ve been struggling for AGES on one particular childish banta section. I was researching childrens’ dialogue for inspiration and this blog came up. I’ve been so addicted to it because I’ve never read anything like it before! Jack is an amazing kid which I’m sure you already know.
    So I’d just like to ask if it would be okay if I used some of his witty comments and change the wording slightly?
    Thank you so much for this hilariously refreshing blog. I don’t know if you still use it and I don’t know if you will reply, but well done for keeping it up for that long!
